How we can help you:

Dutchess Works is a true One-Stop Employment Center that has earned the right to the "One-Stop" label by meeting Federal Legislative requirements. As such we proudly offer the following services:

  1. Friendly, knowledgeable staff to provide information, consultation, and work search assistance.

  2. Assessment and direction in working with other government and non-profit employment agencies.

  3. Full Service Resource Room containing copiers, fax machines, phones, and computers for gathering work search information tutorials.

  4. Periodic Job Recruitment Opportunities

  5. Resume Assessment and Creation, Revision and Distribution Support

  6. Employment Placement Assistance

To register at the One-Stop, please stop by our offices located at:

233 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Intake Specialists are available from 9am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 3:30pm  to assist you with the registration process.  No appointment is necessary.

 

To facilitate the registration process, it would be helpful to have the following documents with you:

  • Valid Drivers License or State Issued ID Card

  • Birth Certificate

  • Proof of address, e.g. a utility bill showing your name and address

  • DD214 for Vets

  • Proof of Selective Service Registration, if applicable.*

  • A resume or a list of current and/or previous work history

*Selective Service Registration

If you're a male born after December 31, 1959, you must be registered with Selective Service before we can assist you. We will be able to validate your registration online so you do not have to send proof of registration as long as we are able to locate it in the Selective Service database.

If you're a male U.S. citizen, age 18 through 25, and are living INSIDE the United States or its territories, or if you have an APO/FPO address, you can register with Selective Service by going to www.sss.gov
